Helloooo Summer Banger 2020

When summertime meets butterflies in your stomach for a new love...that's Brand New, my fifth single. Let's face it, we could all use a little bright spot in our day. Brand New is an expression of tingly feelings in your stomach when you have a crush on someone. It is meant to be that summer song you jam to while riding in your car with the windows down (or jamming to while social distancing from the world during a quarantine ;-).
Think Timbaland & Magoo's Up Jumps Da Boogie or Brandy's I Wanna Be Down. As mentioned in an earlier blog, sometimes my writing process is unconventional; I might write an entire song then find a beat to fit the mood. Brand New was a little different; I received a sample beat from producer Lejon Lewis and was immediately sparked with emotion when I heard his track called Toy. It took me back to that time I was six years old and found a new friend at the zoo. Or that time time I thought about asking a girl to the movie's, but ran away instead. Or that other time I wrote I poem for someone while shakily stuffing it through their car window (yea, that happened). I hope when you hear Brand New, it will take you back to similar happy moments you've experienced.
